Why donate to Build a Home?
Help Cambodia’s poorest people – your donation will contribute towards building a traditional wooden Khmer-style house and provide safe, comfortable homes to poor Cambodian families in need.
Poverty rates are high in rural Cambodia, where many people are still living on less than $1 a day. In many cases the housing is rudimentary at best and many homes are fragile structures with palm frond walls and dirt floors. Many of these houses do not survive the severe rainstorms.
In contrast, our wooden houses are solid and designed to last at least 15 years. The houses we build are four metres by five metres, with concrete footings, wooden sides and floorboards and a tin roof. They include one enclosed room and one room with open sides. The space underneath the house is often used as a daily living and cooking area.
Why dontate to Build a Toilet?
Up to 85% of rural Cambodians do not have access to adequate sanitation. With your help we can build toilets to improve sanitation and reduce health risks and improve dignity.
Why donate to Provide Clean Water
Waterborne diseases are rife in rural Cambodia where more than 50% of people cannot access clean drinking water. Installing a well can have an immediate impact on health.
Why dontate to Provide Electricity?
With no access to electricity, providing a family with a small solar panel set up allows for the family to use a fan and the school aged children to charge educational devices.
